Here is a breakdown of the AI Film News from the video.

Microsoft's Phi-3 - Microsoft has introduced Phi-3, a powerful enhancement to semantic language model servers. Microsoft promises faster and more accurate language processing with Phi-3. It honestly hasn't caught our attention much, but that can change overnight in this industry.

Apple’s Open ELM - Not to be outdone, Apple has also recently released a language model that's catching people's attention. Similar to Microsoft's, we aren't impressed yet, but we are curious to see how it develops in the near future, given Apple's extensive resources

Adobe’s Video Upscale Tool - Adobe's new AI video upscaling research is turning heads. This tool addresses common upscaling problems like smoothed-over skin details and weird abstract lines. Currently, Topaz Labs is the only other major player in our pipeline. This may give filmmakers another option and provide some healthy competition in the world of AI video upscale tools.

Drake is Getting Sued - Drake finds himself in hot water as Tupac's estate sues him over his AI-generated diss track using Tupac’s voice. This is definitely a prime example of how not to use AI tools ethically.

Rabbit R1 Reviews - Remember the big launch of the crazy Rabbit tool that could seemingly replace phones, or at least augment them significantly? Well, here's what people are saying about the new tech.

Chinese AI Model Beats ChatGPT 4 - A Chinese AI model has reportedly surpassed OpenAI's ChatGPT 4 in performance. This isn't the first time this has happened. The question is, are we just splitting hairs at this point, or will we notice the difference?

Synthesia’s New Avatars - Synthesia AI has launched new, highly expressive avatars that can display a wide range of emotions like surprise, disgust, and happiness. Synthesia's new avatars, as well as Heygen's, are expressing emotions in ways we never thought possible, or at least not this quickly. Oh yeah, and Synthesia just received a $1 billion valuation.

AI Reid Hoffman - An AI-generated version of Reid Hoffman is providing insights and interviews, utilizing advanced voice synthesis from ElevenLabs. This AI clone not only shares knowledge from Hoffman's books but also engages in deep discussions about navigating changes brought by AI. It makes you wonder, is AI Reid Hoffman more familiar with the real Reid Hoffman's material?

Scaling NeRFs - NVIDIA's advancements in NeRF technology are creating large-scale, real-time environments, which could transform virtual production and video gaming. This technology will undoubtedly transform the video game industry as these tools become higher quality and are implemented into pipelines.

Interactive 3D Generation - This new Interactive3D research allows users to create and manipulate 3D models through conversations and intuitive design updates. This technology is making 3D modeling more accessible and customizable for creators at all levels.

New SORA Competitor: Vidu - A new competitor to SORA, named Vidu, has entered the market, or at least that's what a lot of people are saying. Vidu boasts superior capabilities in lighting, shadows, and facial expressions, and enhances multi-camera shots. It's too soon to tell which tool is better (primarily because we can't use either) but Vidu definitely looks like it could be a phenomenal tool.

Rendernet AI - Rendernet AI now allows users to change clothing styles through simple prompts, showcasing the flexibility and creative potential of AI in fashion and design. This is just another tool that gives more control over the scenes we are trying to generate.
